The PJHL has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending Mar. 9.
Theo Kochan, Forward, Ridge Meadows Flames – Kochan was a menace on the man advantage for the Flames, scoring five of his six goals on the week on the power play. He had two of Ridge Meadows’ six power-play tallies in a 9-0 win in Game 1 over Chilliwack where he took 3rd Star and followed that with two helpers in come-from-behind 3-2 overtime win in Game 2. The Pitt Meadows product scored three of his four tallies on the man advantage in Game 3, and was in on five of the Flames’ six goals in a 6-4 Game 3 victory where he was 1st Star.
Pierce Whyte, Forward, Ridge Meadows Flames – With a goal in Game 1 and the overtime winner in Game 2’s 3-2 victory, Whyte had his fingerprints all over the Flames’ scoresheet as they got up two games to none on the way to a series sweep over Chilliwack. He took 1st Star in the Game 2 win and now has six goals and a helper in nine postseason games.
Mateo Sjoberg, Forward, Delta Ice Hawks – Sjoberg scored the first two goals of the series on his way to 1st Star in a 5-4 win against Richmond in Game 1 and followed that with a pair of assists in an 8-4 win in Game 2 as Delta built a 2-0 series lead over the Sockeyes.
