We are proud to announce that we have promoted Garett MacDonald to Associate Head Coach. Garett joined our coaching staff last season and was instrumental in helping us achieve the first 3-Peat in 41-years. We are excited to increase his role moving forward. This enhanced role for Garett continues to help our organization provide the very best junior hockey experience for our athletes!

Garett will continue to work with our D-Core this season in addition to his Associate Head Coach duties. He has an extensive hockey resume as a player and coach. Some highlights: 4-year NCAA playing career at Northern Michigan, 1991 NCAA Div.1 Champion, Philadelphia Flyers supplemental draft choice, 2-year professional playing career including the AHL, 1995 ECHL Champion, and has 4-years of NCAA Div.1 assistant coaching experience!

The Ridge Meadows Flames want to thank Jason Phillips for his time as an Assistant Coach of the Ridge Meadows Flames.

Jason leaves a lasting impact on our organization since he joined us ahead of the 2024/25 season. His dedication, commitment, professionalism, and hockey acumen were greatly appreciated. Jason worked with our power play and forward group over his two years. During Jason’s time as an assistant coach he played a vital role on our staff on the back two wins of our 3-Peat Championship wins: 2024/25 and 2025/26 Playoff Championship seasons and in 2024/25 we captured the Regular Season Championship. Under Jason’s guidance our power play was the number one power play: in the 2024/25 regular season, in the 2024/25 playoffs, in the 2025/26 regular season, and in the 2025/26 playoffs. Setting league records for power play percentages each year and culminated in a 41.9% power play during the 2025/26 playoffs; in which we captured the 3-Peat Championship. Jason was also an assistant coach with us for the 2025 Mowat Cup Championship; which was a silver medal finish.

We appreciate his contributions, results, efforts, and the time that he gave to our organization and we wish him continued success in his future endeavours.
